Whether you are just starting or have been climbing for many years we can help improve your climbing skills. With over 60 years in the climbing trade, both teaching and selling climbing equipment, we know a thing or two about rock climbing.

At Soft Rock we don't believe that attending a course with lots of other people you don't know is the way to become a climber. If you take that route you get a taste and then have no-one to continue your climbing with afterwards. We believe that if you get a small group together yourselves and then come and learn together with people you know you will then continue to go climbing. It does not have to be an expensive experience a half day session costs £75 per head for a 3 hour session (Minimum 2 people).  Although you will learn more in smaller groups we recommend 2 - 4. We can teach you on a 1 - 1 basis but you will learn much more if you bring a friend even if they do not climb and only hold the rope. 

For beginner's we offer a far more detailed introduction to rock climbing than you would get from booking on a normal course. We start from the basic's (something that wouldn't harm many more experienced 'climbers'), and take you through all that you need to know to climb safely.

For the more experienced climber we can help with rope work skills, movement on rock, or just keeping you up to date with the latest advances in climbing equipment and techniques. We could also help if you want to learn a specific skill - Abseiling, Leading, Self Rescue or a specific climb you just can't manage.

Every climber always has more to learn, even us! We can fill the gaps in your repertoire and make you a safer more careful and knowledgeable climber.
