Childrens Holiday Courses run 4 times a week during school holidays (East Sussex). Students can attend just a morning, a full day or two days. Younger students may find doing all 4 modules in one go hard work so they can be booked as and when required. We would recommend that the modules are done in order even if students have climbed before elsewhere, we are a teaching establishment and not just about giving a brief experience.
MODULE 1 - INTRODUCTION TO CLIMBING - Held at Evolution this course covers moving on rock, Bouldering, Roped climbing and Belaying. Its lots of fun and a great introduction to this exciting sport.TUESDAY & THURSDAY AFTERNOON 1pm - 4pm
MODULE 2 - INTERMEDIATE CLIMBING - Continuing on from the morning session, this moves on to teach knots, and further climbing techniques and also includes an abseil.
MODULE 3 - OUTDOOR BOULDERING - This session is held at Harrison's Rocks and takes the students into the outdoors to explore the climbing on the Sandstone outcrops locally. The session is a fast moving exciting introduction to outdoor climbing covering all the techniques needed. There is no roped climbing in this session instead we concentrate on the safety and movement by using lots of low problems we build the confidence needed to tackle the climbs in the afternoon.
MODULE 4 - TOP ROPING - This sessions takes the climbing to another level, using all the techniques learnt on the previous sessions all students get to attempt the full height climbs at Harrison's Rocks. The instructor will choose challenging yet achievable climbs so every student should complete at least one climb but hopefully far more
